well i have been playing around with bitlbee and i must say once you get this thing running it seems pretty good.
i have not been using it to much right now as i dont chat on any im's much. it was not that bad to setup and a nice "/window server localhost@port" in your fav BitchX session makes for you really great time.

it sounds pretty sweet from what you told me
and it would get rid of the ugliness of gaim.. and make for a nice clean desktop...

that and it is like everyone is using irc. which is the nest best thing to getting them to use it. or as eccentric put it "forcing everyone to use it".

i got it running now and it has cleaned up my dekstop.. now the only thing i have going is a transparent eterm with bitchx and bitlebee

msn support is gone but that is also cause it is gone in gaim
so not that is is a prob with bitlbee i hope they bring it back at some point, i blame MicroSoft.

Ya, I think M$ changed they're MSN protocol a while back. The newest Gaim now supports it properly again so bitlbee probably will as well if it's still actively developed.
