Thought I'd make a post for TrueType font installation.
I've gone through a few how-to's myself, believe the one that is linked here, is one of the better ones.
you should also, if using SID, have anti-aliased fonts while using TrueType. this may vary in Woody and Sarge. but, for example, Mozilla is compiled with FreeType support in SID, and therefore supports it.
This covers both packaged fonts (apt-gettable), and non-packaged fonts.

sweet man i will have to give that a look. so much stuff i have to do right now before i can get to that. but this is def something that i want to get working for sure.

if anyone is using the SID (unstable) release of debian, you probably noticed a mozilla update the other day. and, if before the update happened you had truetype fonts working, you wont anymore.
but fear not. there is a quick and easy fix, thats almost painless.

this wont only allow truetype fonts to be used in mozilla again, but the entire interface will be enabled for them. it's much more attractive in my opinion.
