Although there is no offical kde3 packages in the debian distribution, there are plenty of unoffical sources. And debs right from the kde.org site aswell (which I'm using now with no troubles at all)

Here is a handy site for kde3 unoffical apt sources

http://www.cupis.co.uk/debian/kde3.html

Just add the source line of
deb http://download.us.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/latest/Debian/sid ./
for instance to your /etc/apt/sources.list

do an apt-get update and then go nuts installing kde3 packages Smile

yeah. i do have the bar compacted up in the right-hand corner of my screen.
though there's really nothing to doing it. just a matter of playing around with the Configure Panel app.
mine is set to 16% length, icons large, and the taskbars disabled. cause i never used them anyway.
heres a kde screenshot 1024x768 145Kb
